Some shots from the little canon

I was going through some of my pics today, and got to making a small album with a few shots taken with my little canon ixus.  Basically, it reminded me to quit worrying about gear, and focus on getting the picture.  I mean, this is what I used to do back in the days of film.  So, without further ado, here’s the gallery from this past year.

The pink tower

Tyholt Tårnet (tower) was lit up in pink for the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. It was a pretty site to see the tower all lit up like this.

Tyholt Tårnet for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Of course, I had to wait until the very last night to take the pictures.   It was about 0 degrees, i.e. cold. The NFL also did it’s part for the month.   A little differently than Trondheim of course ;-) .

It's that time of year folks

It's that time of year folks

Yup, it’s that time of year again, and I’ve waited til the last minute to shift tires.  Takes about 40 mins to do it, and saved the equivalent of about $40 at todays rate to get someone else to do it for me.  Besides, if you own a car, you should be able to change your tires esp. if you own SUV that’s never seen any dirt.  I see too many people here waiting for NAF/AAA to come and change a flat, or paying a garage to change their tires.  I think if you were to tell all the teenagers here that if they want a car they have to switch the tires themselves, you’d see less kids in cars :-) – lazy buggers.

A crisp fall day

A crisp fall day

Now, you’ve seen this before – I mean the wooden houses here in Trondheim.  This was taken on a crisp, sunny fall day, which is what I’ve basically forgotten what it is, and need photo evidence that such days exist.  Why you ask?

This is why

Sucky weather forecasts

This is the forecast for the next week, and has been this way for the last two weeks.  OK, we get it – it rains here, but come on!!!!  After a week in Corsica, this is harsh people.

One day, I want to climb this.

One day, I want to climb this.

So we headed off a bit further south this time around where it was 30 in the shade.  Will definitely have to go back to do some climbing at a later time.  In case you’re wondering, it was an island in the med called Corsica.  Magnifique!

Some heavy metal in Trondheim

Bug catcher

This past weekend, there was a gathering of the American Car Club of Norway here in Trondheim.  Walking around town, it was a feast for motorheads, as big engines, loud exhausts, and shiny paint jobs seemingly were all over the place.  Here’s the album of some of my favorite shots from that day:   Nordic Americana.

Now this brings back memories

Back in Zed

Back in Zed

As a kid growing up in Zambia, this was a common sight on the road. Imagine seeing this here? The owner is in the process of restoring this, and it kinda needs a new motor. Once he’s done with that, it’ll be one cool ride.

Need a bike? Help yourself (for a fee of course).

Rent-a-bikes in Trondheim

Rent-a-bikes in Trondheim

Want to get around town, but don’t feel like walking.  Place a deposit, and have at it.  You can pick up a bike at one spot, and drop it off at another spot.  All cities need to do this.

It’s the end of the world as we know it.

The light house at the end of the world in Norway.

Did you know the end of the world is actually in Norway?  And it has a lighthouse?  Why?
